Services: Installation Services

Installation Services

Through its FTS subsidiary acquired in July 2006, UniTek provides engineering services, cable installation, maintenance, splicing, sweep, certification, balancing, disconnect and customer services. These services include running new drop lines to the premise, set top box installation, cable modem installation, VOIP setup, upgrading existing customers, custom wiring, disconnections and equipment pickup. With increasing penetration of cable broadband networks, cable operators are offering attractive voice, video, and telephony bundled packages that have created a surge in the amount of technician activity in most cable markets.

UniTek has contracts to provide services to its customers throughout the U.S. The contracts are renewable annually and establish per unit pricing and quality control requirements. The Company believes that there is an opportunity to expand into new markets with its large cable services clients, all of whom utilize outsourced technicians to provide a large portion of their service offerings.
