Construction Services

Operating under the Advanced Communications, NexLink Communications, Advanced Broadband System Services and Southwest Telecom brands, UniTek’s Telecom Division is a leading turn-key outsourced provider of FTTP network design, engineering, construction and maintenance services to the largest and most aggressive telecommunications companies in the U.S. It also provides these same turn-key services to major cable companies.

In August 2004, the Company expanded into the telecommunications industry by forming its Telecom Division to provide network construction services to Verizon in Florida. UniTek is a single source engineer and integrator of end-to-end services for FTTP networks. The Telecom Division uses utility poles and/or designs, engineers and excavates feeder and distribution trenches to place fiber optic cable and related structures such as conduits, manholes, cabinets and closures, and subsequently places drop lines from the main distribution lines to the customer’s home, business or cell sites. The Company also maintains these facilities and provides end-to-end splicing and fiber network test and certification.
